Join BFS for a Science on Screen (SoS) presentation dedicated to Mental Health. The evening will feature guest speakers Jessie Close, Ambassador for the National organization, Bring Change to Mind (whose mission is to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness), and Director of the Gallatin Mental Health Center, Michael Foust, who will open and moderate the evening’s panel discussion.

Maya Forbes autobiographically inflected Infinitely Polar Bear stars Mark Ruffalo as Cameron, a man who suffers from bipolar disorder. After a breakdown forces him to leave his family and move into a halfway house, he attempts to rebuild a relationship with his two daughters, and win back the trust of his wife Maggie (Zoe Saldana). When Maggie decides to go to business school in New York, they decide that he will move back in and take care of the day-to-day care for the kids, which leads to a series of quirky, funny, and sometimes frightening episodes due to his condition.

SoS is underwritten by a generous grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and administered by the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Special pricing: $5.00/All.
Rated R, the film runs 90 minutes.
